@absoluteradio@bushontheradio Cake only gets worse the longer it isn't eaten. And cake always wants their eaters to be happy and truly enjoy them at their best. Therefore, it is in both the recipient and the cake's interest that you eat it now!
Great to have ex-student @Ieuan_Smith come back after 6 years away to talk to Yr 7. He shared all of his fantastic knowledge & WWI artefacts as a Living Historian. Yr 7 were very engaged and asked excellent questions. Good to see one of them dressed as an Aussie WWI soldier
Thank you to @absoluteradio who I have been listening to every evening this week whilst I create an inventory of my British military uniforms and equipment collection. It's a long and laborious process, but you're making it so much easier and so much more worthwhile!
Day 9. Last full day in Canada. :( Caught the Sky Train and went to Stanley Park and the aquarium. Then explored Gastown and Canada Place, admiring the sights. Then my first ever CFL game to watch the BC Lions play. And we won! Now to fly back tomorrow. 😢 #ReturnToVancouver
All ready and psyched for my first ever CFL game, the @BCLions against the Edmonton Eskimos! Come on the Lions! First time back to Vancouver since I moved to the UK 23 years ago, do us proudl
Day 8. Back to Vancouver today. Lazy day. Went to a shopping mall, endured sister's shopping. Then back to our friends house, enjoying a beer with a beautiful sunset. Tomorrow is our last full day in Vancouver. :( It's over too soon! #ReturnToVancouver
@colin_mayes1 @strangebloke1 @RealTimeWWII I think the thing that always needs to be considered when reviewing this is that, at the time, the German military seemed unstoppable. So I wouldn't be surprised if people at the time genuinely believed the Germans could pull off an invasion of Scapa Flow
Day 7. Explored the BC Parliamentary Building. Then Miniature World and fantastic model displays. Discovery of an English gift shop! Then finishing off the day with some amazing fish and chips and chowder! Back to Vancouver tomorrow. #ReturnToVancouver
Day 6. Explored Victoria. Lovely city, very European in feel. Saw the government building for BC, enjoyed Beacon Hill Park, had my first Ice Float, explored the Royal BC Museum, enjoyed the views from Beacon Hill to the US and even saw a game of cricket! #ReturnToVancouver
Day 5. To Victoria, Vancouver Island, capital of BC. Views from ferry are STUNNING as you weave through islands. Go grocery shopping. Shocked by the prices, high compared to the UK. Go to a local bar. Enjoy local beer, watc baseball and chatted to locals. #ReturnToVancouver
Day 4. Visited the hospital I was born in, but couldn't find the tile that was put up when I was born. Then Vancouver to Squamish to admire the BEAUTIFUL BC views. Enjoyed more local beer! Then a little exploration and shopping around downtown Vancouver. #ReturnToVancouver
