The most disturbing thing about The Polygamist isn't Jonasi.
It's the fact that a writer sat down, imagined all this wickedness, wrote it down, another person approved it, actors memorized it, producers funded it, Netflix bought it, and not one person along the way said:
"Guys, this is getting a bit concerning."
😭
That lady who handed her new and struggling friend 1,000 words of poetry and fiction and then got upset and embarrassed when it went badly is a pretty good example of why you should not tell odd people to “just be yourself” without serious caveats
it is an unwritten rule of life that after every prolonged period of hardship and uncertainty, there is going to be a period when you are going to achieve quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life. the only requirement is that you do not give up on yourself
I know a guy that broke up with his gf of 3 months cause she didn’t get him anything for his birthday. He said he has experienced what it feels to have a woman spend on him and he refuses to settle for less 😭😭
The only reason you people are romanticising the idea of another global pandemic is because you don’t think the people that are going to die will be you and yours.
Foolish, short-sighted idiots.
If you love someone remove them from the pedestal which imprisons them and denies the fullness of their humanity. Allow them to be imperfect and assure them that their so called imperfection is also a reflection of the divine.
i think it's beautiful how life gives you infinite chances to experience better. just when you think you'll never find better, you walk right into better and your heart softens again.
we live on a planet where trees warn each other of danger through underground networks. where octopuses dream. where elephants return to the bones of their dead and stand over them in silence. where bees communicate through dance, showing each other where to fly. where flowers bloom...where crows remember human faces -especially those who were cruel to them - and pass that memory on to their young. where ants build entire cities. where cats purr at a frequency that can help heal bones. where forests, after fires, grow flowers first.
