Working on a beverage label that’s supposed to feel timeless but also modern. Struggling with balance. The client wants it to look like it’s from 1972 but made in 2026. I’m starting to think I should just make it look like a t-shirt.
Today was a reminder that most clients don’t want a design. They want to feel like they’re inventing something new. I’m not sure I agree with that, but I’m still trying to do it anyway. The brand is a wrapper for a feeling, and that should never be left to chance.
