@nafiumohammad If your salary is below 1 million and you don’t want your children to carry the plate on your behalf around Mararaba or Kabusa, STAY SINGLE
I am a Northern girl. But I am not the Northern girl you imagined.
When people hear “Northern Nigeria,” many immediately picture a Muslim Hausa woman.
That woman exists.
But so do I.
I am a Northern girl. I am Christian. I am not Hausa. I am Laka/Godogodo.
And sometimes explaining that feels like I am introducing myself three times before people finally understand where I come from.
The problem is that Northern Nigeria has been reduced to one religion, one language, one culture and one kind of woman.
But the North is not one people.
There are Christians. Traditionalists. Muslims. Indigenous ethnic groups. Minority languages. Women who wear hijab and women who don’t. Women who grew up in churches. Women who grew up in mosques. Women whose grandparents spoke languages most Nigerians have never even heard of.
We exist.
And I think one reason many people don’t know we exist is because we haven’t told our stories loudly enough.
So yes, I am a Northern girl.
Just not the version of Northern Nigeria you were taught to imagine.

@haqiru I also interacted with a pupil in Government Secondary School, Garki, Area 10 and was shocked when I was told that those that are yet to pay their school fees are being punished. I wish I am liquid enough to step in for them cus I can’t understand why punching.
@katmaryb Everything being equal a Nigerian lady will outperform you both in America, Europe and Nigeria. The funniest part is when you recite this stuff and go back to cry about people from the third world coming to your country to take your jobs.
@Benkive Most of the men enlisted into the army to go and defend a civilization. “For this life, nothing really consign woman!” not the number of men that never made it back home, not that fact that Romi abi Uromi is still standing, just nothing
@OluwatobiAjayiJ Your story is very inspiring, it echoes the silent struggles that many entrepreneurs faces and the determination that is necessary to make dreams come true. The most interesting thing is that you didn’t give up and now you have built a strong brand. Congratulations
@ThisSpaze@GbengaWemimo The pastor did the right thing by asking him to apologize, he did the right thing by apologizing.
We pray the woman learns and changes her ways.

🚨 I was brutally attacked after my wedding after-party on 24th Aug, 1:30am.
While bleeding & unconscious, my friends handed the culprit to Zone 3 Police Division Abuja FCT. Instead of filing the case, officers in a grey Mazda patrol car blocked them & erased all records.
Today, the attack is “non-existent” in police files.
I demand #Justice. Those officers must be investigated & arrested. Nigeria cannot continue to bury truth in silence. ✊🏽

@Morris_Monye Like the way I used to wonder the number of times crew members would have to beg some passengers to off their phones. Omo if you don’t intend to arrive safely, fly alone.
