@dampedspring@BardoFaraday Kind of a silly take. Generating fees off retails users and monetizing the ever growing gambling culture by making leveraged trading super accessible absolutely benefits the big boys
Also increases size of dumb money to trade against
@BenjaminDEKR@BojanSala Lol did you pay for it? Or is it an open sourced tool you’re using off the back of free work from others?
Of course you shouldn’t have to because you don’t have to. Just don’t use it
Super ungrateful Karen vibes
The nightmare the gun lobby has warned against for decades — a federal government that uses violence to strip the constitutional freedoms of citizens who disagree with them — is happening in Minneapolis, btw
@vasuman I built a D&D Dungeon Master agent two years ago. It takes players completely from A to Z including writing a campaign based on user provided theme/setting.
It stores progress, has an interface for rolling dice then adding modifiers, and provides text/audio/image outputs
@gainzy222 Do low carb with 1 day per week of cheating. If you’re working out then this won’t be a problem. In fact it will help you refill muscle glycogen, reduce cortisol, improve hormone health, etc
I want to classify reposts like these as “extreme naivety with good intentions”
You know that you don’t have to use a credit card in your name or anyone’s name (eg, prepaid card) to buy a train ticket in the US
Yes the US will surveil you too but your govt ID isn’t your ticket
I want to classify replies like these as "extreme naivety with good intentions"
You know that every train ticket you buy in the West is directly tied to your payment and with that you?
The Visa/MasterCard system is essentially a co-op with gov and they know exactly where you are, where you go, what you buy and what you do at all times if they want
Not that I think that's good at all btw, I think the gov shouldn't know much at all, but you can't act all superior about China when we pretty much do the exact same
@AcePairAC Yes agreed that every government is a surveillance state. I still think it’s funny to cheer on the purposeful erosion of individual privacy rights
@priv8_code@levelsio I agree on principle of open-mindedness. The facts are just wrong. You can buy train tickets in the US with prepaid cards or even cash without ever needing your ID. Oh well it doesn’t matter in the end since all governments are surveillance states
@ChinaTeacher1@levelsio Nope, I don’t disagree. I don’t have a meaningful opinion on quality of life in China. Everyone is all or nothing on these topics it seems
Me: privacy rights are lower in China. Western govt’s are not good either. I don’t hate China
Sorry I don’t fit some simple stereotype
@levelsio Also this is just wrong. You could buy a train or bus ticket with a “burner” prepaid card in the US and travel all around the country. It’s fundamentally incorrect understanding of the situation
@levelsio Brother I also argue with people who pretend the West is holier than thou on the topic of freedom
But it’s absurd to pretend it’s the same as China. Yes the West could control citizens the same way, but China has leaned into the infra / processes to do it and actively does
