With no surprise Ursula #vonderLeyen is elected by the #EuropeanParliament with 401 votes in favour, 284 against, which is a better score than in 2019 (although that was not difficult). She seems to have given guarantees about the pursuit of the #GreenDeal

of Greenhouse Gas Emmissions, to 90% by 2040, compared to 1990 levels, in order to achieve #Climateneutrality by 2050. The process to appoint the rest of the Commissioners now begins, and the newly formed Commission is supposed to enter into office on 1st November 2024.
