"Abdullaziz Yari won the election for Senate President but the President forcefully collected it from him.
Today they are making him DG for Tinubu's campaign.
God willing, Tinubu will lose this election before 12 Noon"
This cleric made a very strong point: any Islamic cleric seen openly preaching in support of Tinubu’s government has, in his view, most likely been compromised or paid.
According to him, it is shameful for a preacher to lend religious legitimacy to a government whose policies have, in his assessment, been anti-people in virtually every respect.
The pulpit should be a place for truth, conscience and accountability, not a platform for political patronage. When the suffering of the people is evident, religious leaders should have the courage to speak truth to power, regardless of who is in government.
Sheikh Albani Zaria narrating how a sitting governor of Kaduna came all the way to his house to seek his support during the 2003 election and Albani refused to see him because they once took development proposals to the governor on behalf of poor people & the governor refused to see them.
Scholars with principles!!!
There are still credible and God-fearing Islamic scholars that refused to be bought.
Shaykh Abubakar Kandahar (Hafidhahullah).
He said, the so called Muslim/Muslim ticket is a fallacy, fake & has nothing to do with Islam. He lambasted the scholars of evil that sold their conscience and want to use religion to deceive people. He added that, that is why even when these so called scholars go to see the President, he do not value them. He sees them as his labourers and collaborators.
