They're not imbe or imbeciles. They have cerebral palsy.
They were not used by their parents. They have autism.
They are not mad. They have rubella syndrome.
They're not disfigured. They have Down syndrome.
Disabled people are people too and they deserve respect as well.
There’s a small audience in Nigeria that really cares about live musicianship, arrangements and composition. Most people just want to vibe along to a DJ. i wonder if it’s because of the lack of proper live music venues, or if we just haven’t developed much of a live music culture
Literally dgaf about where the president is from, I just need the country to work. Obi could be Ibibio and I wouldn’t bat an eyelid because we just need a competent leader. Why is this such a big deal?
Last two weeks, my father suffered the worst seizures since he started having them post stroke because we couldn’t find the usual brand of seizure medication he was on and got another brand. Turned out it was fake and it was just chalk. Spent millions on resuscitation and ICU monitoring. It was the scariest couple of days we’ve had in a long time. His doctor later confirmed they’ve been having same emergencies even with children’s seizure medications. I’ve cried, I’ve cursed, I’ve said Allah Ya isa so many times I can’t count — but WHEN WILL THIS NONSENSE END?!!!!! What is @NafdacAgency doing about this?!
There’s nothing wrong with Nigerians loving their traditional cultures. It’s also not the reason the country isn’t developed. The reason we’re like this is because we lack a spirit of excellence, both individually and collectively. We also take pride in anyhowness.
The average Nigerian probably doesn’t hold their culture to heart like the Chinese and Japanese do, but they have a spirit of excellence that was passed down to them through systems their forefathers created.
Taste can be acquired. You can develop your eye, expand your references, study great work, and surround yourself with people whose instincts are stronger than yours. But that requires curiosity, common sense and enough self-awareness to know what you don't know.
