@moneyacademyKE I don't know who makes this laws. Tobacco farming used to be a lucrative investment to farmers in S. Nyanza and Bungoma. Unfortunately someone came with useless health ideas and now poverty is killing farmers instead of nicotine.
I want every Kenyan seeing this to tweet:
REJECT FUEL PRICES.
REJECT FUEL PRICES
Don’t stay silent while the cost of food, transport and electricity is being pushed beyond reach.
A Sh46 diesel increase will hurt every family in Kenya.
When people attend meetings at State House, they are given between 5,000 to 10,000 shillings a DAY, but a CHILD in a Public Primary School has been ALLOCATED 95 shillings for a WHOLE TERM.
Kindly just VOTE this REGIME OUT!
Hata nikijaribu kuwafungua macho namna gani, bado kuna watu wanadhani ni siasa.
When Uhuru left power, NSSF was at flat rate of KSh 200. For Ruto, it's 6% on the employer side and 6% on the employee side.
When Uhuru was leaving power, the dollar was KSh 118. Ruto took it to 160 and brought it down to 129.
When Uhuru was leaving power, petrol was going for KSh 158 with subsidy. Ruto took it to 217, brought it down to 178, and now it’s at 198 with subsidy.
When Uhuru was leaving power, the maximum NHIF contribution was KSh 1,700. For Ruto, it's 2.75% of your salary.
During Uhuru’s time, KSh 100 would give you about 6 KPLC units of tokens, but under Ruto you now get about 3 units for the same amount.
During Uhuru’s time, VAT across key sectors was 8%, but under Ruto it has gone up to 16%.
For Uhuru, affordable housing meant no deductions on your payslip, but under Ruto, you now have an additional mandatory deduction.
Despite all this, borrowing hasn’t stopped. In fact, it has picked up.
So, how has Ruto reduced the cost of living ?🤔
It's up to you to judge and make a wise decision.
William Ruto is now paying for the sins he helped Uhuru Kenyatta commit. Between 2013 and 2023, Kenya should have borrowed around KSh 1.3 trillion, but instead, the government went on a reckless borrowing spree, accumulating over KSh 10 trillion, most of it without proper parliamentary oversight.
Ruto, as Deputy President, chaired many of the same economic committees that signed off on opaque deals, inflated megaprojects, and Chinese loans tied to corrupt kickbacks. He didn’t just inherit the crisis, but he also helped to manufacture it.
Now that the bills are due, the very man who cheered on the borrowing is unable to fund the roads, schools, and hospitals his regime promised.
It is untenable to shoulder a 1.5% housing levy, 2.75% SHIF deduction, 6% NSSF contribution, and a staggering 30-45% PAYE , only to still grapple with exorbitant school fees, skyrocketing rent, punitive fuel prices, and endless medical fundraisers because SHIF remains woefully inadequate.
Over 50% of salaried workers in Kenya rely on advance loans to survive due to the rising cost of living, according to a new report.
The report reveals Kenyans are increasingly depending on short-term credit to cover monthly expenses.
KOMBOA KENYA PETITION
5.04.2026
TO WILLIAM RUTO, KENYANS AND PARLIAMENT -
FAILED HEAD OF STATE
The continued reckless loss of Billions of Shillings of public money daily in Kenya has now reached beyond the acceptable conduct of any Government and of any President.
Under Article 145 of the 2010 ConstitutionofKenya, the immediate removal of William Ruto requires a 2/3 majority vote in the Senate for gross violations of the constitution, crimes, and/or gross misconduct.
I wish to give notice to Ruto that "if the money stolen in the fuel saga [of which he is fully aware] is not recovered/returned and/or accounted for I will initiate a people driven petition countrywide compelling Parliament [Senate] by the Sovereign will of the people by annexture of 5 million signatures to commence you're immediate removal from office". The Petition will include a resolution by the Kenyan people to peacefully demonstrate and picket until you exit office over the loss of public money.
Tony Gachoka @KANUParty_ke
CS Opiyo Wandayi's core responsibility is to develop, implement, review and enforce policies in the Ministry of Energy & Petroleum.
He is the leader, reporting directly to the President.
He knew or aught to have known the diversion of condemned fuel worth Sh 4billion, by those 3 thieves, into the Kenyan market
If he knew he must be arrested immediately for criminal culpability.
If he didn't know he must immediately take political responsibility and resign or be sacked for cross incompetence.
If the President fails to sack him because of shenanigans of broad-based government, the National Assembly must then exercise its constitutional mandate and impeach him
It takes two to TANGO. We have seen the faces of the public officers behind the petroleum scam. WHERE ARE THE FACES OF THE THREE PRIVATE COMPANIES THAT IMPORTED THE FUEL? GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT PLAY GAMES WITH KENYANS. THE PRIVATE SECTOR ENABLERS MUST BE BROUGHT TO FACE JUSTICE.
