In 2010, we were in church, in Dogon Karfe in Jos, when we noticed a horde gathering outside the church trying to gain access to the church.

Thankfully, a military man was passing by around that time, and he began to plead with the angry crowd to not attack the church.

He prevailed upon them, and they allowed us to leave before they burnt the church.

It was a church planted by my dad. It was burnt down.

These guys wanted to burn us inside o. By the mercy of God, no life was lost. The church alone was burnt down.

In that instant, no one was thinking about resources and the economy of the nation. We just wanted to be alive and have pur property secured.

It is foolhardy to try to safeguard resources when the people who they're meant to serve are dead.

Narratives will fly here and there.

But all we want as Christians in the North is for our brethren to live, our property to be secured, and we be allowed to serve God without threat of looming terrorists upon us.

When that is secured, we will begin to think about resources.

Let us be alive first.
