He didn’t soften. He named them cowards, denied genocide, and said crushing Iran’s military was both “very hard to do” and “one of the easiest decisions” of his life.
That is not diplomacy. That is two camps performing for cameras and for voters back home _ including his own October election.
Here’s the question nobody on either side likes:
if your side is certain it is fighting for survival, and the other side is certain it is watching a crime, what would an argument that isn’t just a walkout or a monologue even sound like?

Tehran doesn’t need to defeat America militarily if it can make the war politically expensive.

Trump has now pointed to a post-midterm timeline for a possible Iran deal. Meanwhile, gas prices are surging and public dissatisfaction with the war is rising.

So ask the uncomfortable question:

If diplomacy can suddenly wait until after November 3, why couldn’t the same urgency apply to ending the war before it?

Was the battlefield always the only battlefield,or was Washington’s political calendar part of the strategy all along?

Same week: Iran asks Washington to re-enter the MoU. Trump tells the UN he might “annihilate” the Islamic Republic.
That’s not diplomacy. That’s a hostage note with a campaign logo on it. One side wants the blockade lifted and Hormuz reopened. The other side wants a headline before Americans vote. The collapsed June MoU already proved paper doesn’t stop the next barrage.
When both presidents talk peace and extinction in the same 48 hours, who is actually negotiating and who is just buying time?
