The entire history of AC Milan is in tears following the passing of Franco Baresi. His example and integrity will be forever etched into the Club's DNA, just as his iconic number 6 shirt is. The condolences AC Milan extends to Franco Baresi's family at such a difficult time are shared by every Rossonero, who feels this loss as their own.
The EU's Chat Control fight just reignited, and critics warn the worst case is back on the table: mass scanning of private messages, detection orders without a judicial warrant, and the end of anonymous communication through forced age verification.
Former MEP Patrick Breyer is warning of what he calls a "double attack" on encrypted messaging: EU government envoys met Friday to try to revive lapsed rules allowing "voluntary" scanning of private chats, and Monday June 29 brings the final trilogue on the permanent Child Sexual Abuse Regulation (Chat Control 2.0).
Parliament rejected extending the old scanning rules in March and they expired in April. Breyer claims EP President Roberta Metsola is maneuvering to force another vote, which Politico has also reported. Backers, including the Commission, call it child protection.
Civil society has relaunched https://t.co/BOffvuyohe to push MEPs before Monday.
Today, Hungary witnessed something troubling.
Prime Minister Magyar Péter called for the removal of the President and threatened constitutional changes to achieve it. Heads of state should not be removed simply because of political disagreements.
The footage below is also concerning. Citizens expressing disagreement were called stupid by the PM and removed by police while exercising their right to free speech.
Giorgia Meloni has suffered the first significant defeat of her three-and-a-half-year premiership.
The Italians have roundly rejected her plans to reform Italy’s sclerotic judicial system – even though those plans were in the election manifesto that persuaded so many of them to vote for her.
It is unlikely now that any Italian government will attempt such a reform for another generation. Italy is condemned to remain a country where the motto in every court in the peninsula – ‘La legge è uguale per tutti’ (the law is equal for all) – is but a sick joke.

@Jaukkr13@EuroBriefing Italy is a net contributor of the EU budget, it means we pay to the EU budget more than we receive back. Therefore kindly accuse someone else of stealing your Nordic money in your racist rants
