Director of the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Rochester: Landmark clinical trials of arrhythmia and sudden cardiac death.
What is the role of ICDs for primary prevention of SCD with contemporary HFrEF therapy? Looking forward to the new PCORI funded 3000+ patient outcomes trial. @ilangoldenberg @WojciechZareba @JustinEzekowitz

At the Heart Rhythm Society conference in San Francisco this week our @UofR @URMC_DeptMed medical students, residents, cardiology fellows and faculty had a record number of 12 presentations! @MilicaBjelic5
Below is also a link to an article published by Medscape on our @HRSonline Late Breaking Presentation (published also simultaneously at @hrs_journal) @UofR @URMC_DeptMed

"Use of Oral Contraceptives in Women with Congenital Long QT Syndrome" by Ilan Goldenberg et al had been accepted by Heart Rhythm. The paper will be published simultaneously with LBCT abstract presentation during HRS meeting next week.
Congratulations to Dr. Hima Vidula for leading and developing the unique TeleVAD Program at the University of Rochesterhttps://www.urmc.rochester.edu/news/story/heartbeat-of-community-stronger-thanks-to-remote-televad-program-in-hornell
The academic year for the Cardiology Grands Rounds at the University of Rochester ended today.
Here is the link to the recordings of our high-level presentations, involving external and internal speakers addressing innovative cardiology topics:

Our NIH Award for a randomized clinical trial at the University of Rochester on atrial fibrillation management following ablation based on subclinical AF (using an insertable cardiac monitor) was activated today. @UR_Med
Congratulations also to Dr. David Huang who received his first RO1 to study intraoperative VT ablation in LVAD patients. Dr. Huang and our experienced advanced heart failure/cardiac surgery teams will lead this important multicenter clinical trial in the US @UR_Med@URMed_AHF
The NIH Awarded RO1 of @himavidula will evaluate a very important topic: identification of a blood pressure threshold for the prevention of stroke in LVAD patients in the setting of a prospective multicenter clinical study headed by Dr. Vidula @URMed_AHF@UR_Med@UofR

Our Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Rochester received approval this week for 5! new NIH grants (in the fields of novel treatment of atrial fibrillation, management of LVAD patients, and device therapy for heart failure)
We have initiated this week the CONFIRM-AF study. Randomized multisite clinical trial (30 sites) coordinated by our center at the University of Rochester for early detection of atrial fibrillation using an insertable cardiac monitor in patients with heart failure.
