My friend, student and member of @IliaMovement24 Khalibeg Magamedovi, was violently arrested during a peaceful protest on Nov 19. He was dragged away for daring to stand up.
Today, the regime’s court handed him a 5-day sentence, as if silencing a student could silence a generation.
It’s heartbreaking. This is a reminder of exactly what we’re up against.
Khalibeg’s courage won’t be erased.
And neither will our voices.

We shared our views, thoughts and discussed politics. There was one thing we especially agreed on - we must protect our country from the pro-Russian regime and fight together.

Today we celebrate the birthday of Ilia Chavchavadze, the thinker who brought Georgia closer to Europe not through geography, but through values: freedom, dignity, and reason.

Ilia believed that a nation’s strength lies in education, civic consciousness and unity the very principles that shape European democracy today. His vision was never isolated; it was open, progressive, and deeply human.

At Ilia State University, carrying his name means carrying his mission to question, to resist injustice, to think freely and to lead Georgia toward the Europe, a Georgia that belongs among free and enlightened nations.

May his ideas continue to inspire every student who chooses courage over comfort, freedom over fear, and Europe over isolation.

Today, I want to ask not only for help in spreading information about political prisoners in Georgia but also for urgent assistance for a teacher and woman who is facing torture, her life is at serious risk.

Nino Datashvili’s health has critically worsened. She urgently needs two surgeries, with the cervical spine surgery being the highest priority.

Can you imagine the post-operative period under prison conditions? After such a serious operation, rehabilitation in a prison cell would be a nightmare.

Her friend said: “This morning, Nino called me and said that before, she feared losing feeling below her waist, but now she fears losing feeling below her neck. She can barely move her right arm and leg and even struggles to eat.”

And all of this is happening while she remains in prison. The reason the regime is keeping her in her cell is absurd, they claim that if she is released, she will commit another crime.

Her lawyer said: “We just left the Women’s N5 Penitentiary with Tamuna Gabodze. After seeing Nino Datashvili, we are in shock. Her condition is extremely serious. Nino's health is deteriorating rapidly and irreversibly, and she urgently needs two surgeries on her neck.”

Even her lawyers struggled to spend time with her and had difficulty getting her to sign documents.

She was arrested for protecting her dignity, defending herself, and standing up for her friends in the face of physical abuse.

Your help is crucial, pressure can make a real difference, and can make the regime to fall back.

Terror in Georgia continues. The regime is suppressing students and protesters. Dozens of civilians have been arrested and added to the list of political prisoners, many of whom have faced violence.

The regime has also attacked our movement - two members have been arrested, and we have no information about their conditions.
