This book makes the intriguing claim on page 100 that Edwardsville, where I grew up, “became the seat of government when the Illinois Territory was established in 1809.” Been trying to find any technical sense in which this was true, but it seems to just be an error.
Forgive me followers, for I have sinned. I have used vibes coding to make an amazing learning module to help our youth train to become the next Mr. Illinois. Practice memorizing counties, county seats, and municipalities at https://t.co/Q8oLV959lQ.
@mr1llinois Been busy and haven’t made a ton of progress yet, so far it’s good but a little repetitive. Tough going from Nature’s Metropolis, which was really superb, to anything else
“Properly understood, frontier Illinois is part of a global story that unfolded over millennia and still continues to unfold. It is part of the human story.” So true
