@CanadasLeafs You are right. One of Holl or Stolarz had to go. Beast is NHL ready & right choice to keep. Stolarz has no value unfortunately. Ersson won't make the team & barring injuries, won't be called up. I'm just wondering if we could've had a better return from EDM (or others) for him.

@GuiguiMtl @Prominent_Bryan American athletes don't. Yet many other world athletes do. Point is you can't include winning an Olympic medal in this debate. It's not the same. But based on grind, roster construction, overall league even competitiveness & historical playoff upsets, NHL's hard to argue against.

High earning professionals - NBA, MLB, NHL, golf, tennis etc
Olympic professionals who are funded via gvmt grants, corporate & national sports federations
Working professionals who need to work jobs to survive

Reports of 12 teams (I guess technically rounding up almost half at 37.5%) were interested, but only 8 confirmed. Vegas signed him bc every other team retracted their offer due to backlash, except the Flyers. So he only had 2 offers left & chose LVK over PHI
