Some asking me "isn't it illegal for places not to accept cash?". No it isn't. This is a common confusion because of a mis-undertanding over what 'legal tender' means.
Legal tender simply means what can't be refused as payment in a court ordered debt. It doesn't impact day-to-day life.
There are no rules on what payments type firms have to accept as long as they are not discriminating.
@WhichUK The article picture depicts an Apple HomePod but Apple don’t feature in your article at all. I clicked the article as I’m a HomePod owner specifically because of Apple’s privacy claims, so am interested to know how it fares.
@AndyBurnhamGM hi Andy, here’s my Northern experience today for my return trip to Euston: 6:39 from Bromley Cross, cancelled. 7:09, cancelled. 7:39 ran, connections from Bolton all disrupted. Return- Piccadilly-Bolton 19:02, on time (😱), connection to BX 19:35… cancelled!
Landrover/Defender is one of the clearest cases of a brand that was fine and dandy, now being the sole preserve of wankers with too much money, too little taste and a propensity to drive in a truly terrible manner
@KirstieMAllsopp This is mostly due to the Government mandated removal of tech manufactured by a certain world leader in wireless comms equipment from the 5G networks with no coherent plan for its replacement
Hey, bonus - I've got Parliamentary time to put down a Private Members Bill of my choosing.
Have an idea for what it should be?
Then Quote Tweet it to me....
Hi Tories, you do know your manifesto commitment was to ban all smoking by anyone born after 2009 and that Sunak praised this as a world-leading initiative that would ‘save more lives than any other decision we could take’. You know that, yes?
Thanks to @AnnaJonesSky for a grown-up interview on recent price cap increase.
Not only did Anna raise the immediate issues and concerns from billpayers who again face a winter of higher energy costs, but also discussed the solutions we need to bring bills down for good.

For those asking, this is about as effective a legal strategy as a bank robber donning a t-shirt reading “I AM NOT DISHONESTLY APPROPRIATING PROPERTY BELONGING TO ANOTHER WITH THE INTENTION OF PERMANENTLY DEPRIVING THE OTHER OF IT.”
Spare me the big boohoo about the cost of immigration when you're out there on the streets burning down libraries and police stations and flooding the courts and costing the tax payers more money than any immigrant you've ever met.
Worth noting that while Suella Braverman labelled protests calling for a ceasefire in the Middle East ‘hate marches’, she has said absolutely nothing about violent racist mobs attacking people, damaging mosques, injuring police officers and setting fire to vehicles and shops
@Michaelp0470 I was going to say that they won’t get far if they can’t buy petrol. But I suppose they would get partners etc to buy it for them. So stiffer breach penalties and proper enforcement. More traffic police needed.
Other people might rely on the same car.

@BobFromAccounts Ah, the daily scramble to park 100 cars right at the school gate. I complained to the council again this morning after a reversing driver who decided too late that he couldn’t fit his car into the school road nearly ran us over. I will be ignored.
