@yetzirot There is value in understanding the development of a field of study to see what it entails and why it has value. I don’t think it’s unfair to want people to know why you need to know something as well as the ability to actually complete it.
We place so much emphasis on the performance of sexuality that some people are genuinely incapable of separating the thought of sex with any other topic or relationship.
Even ancient empires were somewhat meritocratic in their grants of citizenship, like with Rome giving citizenship to Flavius Josephus or Plutarch. The difference is that these men were actually worthy of such and not a bunch of random Indian villagers you want for slave labor.
Meritocracy isn't the problem. It's the solution. And the fact that both parties are now moving toward wholesale rejection of meritocracy spells the end of American innovation, freedom, and strength.
Most people have an opinion years or decades before that opinion becomes relevant. Hearing someone’s opinion on Homer in 1992 is not as publicly significant as that same person’s opinion 30 years later when it gets a multi-million dollar adaptation
I’m pretty sure this is a Roman era approximation of their seafaring reach, not Homeric Greeks. Also the currents make the return journey from central Africa nearly impossible before modern sailing ships so this was not commonly done.
There is no reason governments should not unilaterally kill poachers without trial imo. Like those Ugandan anti-poaching groups protecting gorillas.
It is impossible to be a poacher and to be a good person simultaneously.
🚨 Poachers near Lake Garda use illegal nets and snap traps to kill European Robins.
Our "Robin Rescuers" are launching two special anti-poaching missions this autumn, but we need €4,000 to cover field costs.

@dyingscribe We all know why they don’t but if Twitter allowed people to whitelist and blacklist countries they see tweets from like 75% of the gender war bullshit would disappear
The biggest black pill is that Neoliberalism is working as intended and that nothing will improve until it all collapses like the Western Roman Empire.
In 1000 years they’ll have a Nuevo Renaissance rediscovering the same European culture they destroyed.
Nationalism began in the late 1700’s, early 1800’s and prior to that the world was ruled by who had the most authority. Combating nationalism will have the exact opposite effect you want.
Also people don’t want to give up their national sovereignty to random people.
Nationalism is an obstacle to universal citizenship. We want to cross borders and live in a completely cosmopolitan world, and we hope that the concept of the “nation” will disappear so that people can live together as a single people. Nationalism does the exact opposite. It promotes the idea of “us and them.” Furthermore, protecting cultural values, traditions, and demographic structures is a conservative viewpoint.
The ethical question of whether it is right for one nation to continuously provide sucker for another who cannot obtain it themselves will never be seriously considered because of the races of the people involved
@dyingscribe Most people don’t care since online the minorities are abysmal representatives. IRL niggas have their brown niggas and their yellow niggas they chill with but online the minorities are obnoxious vindictive scammers and rapists.
wrong.
she's honouring the fact that one of the earliest records of a successful C-section was performed in Uganda in 1879.
this is an homage to the brilliance of pre-colonial indigenous African medicinal practice, not a celebration of motherhood.
