I will say as I get older me and friends don't see each other often we out here working and living life I find myself getting sad because I really love being around my friends always good vibes but I'm so proud of my friends we all got great things going on with us💙
Your flight gets canceled. The airline offers a voucher. You don't have to take it.
Federal law requires airlines to issue automatic cash refunds for canceled flights. No request needed. For significant delays (3+ hours domestic, 6+ hours international), tell them you want the refund, not the rebook. After that, no forms, no hold time.
For controllable cancellations (mechanical issues, crew shortages, system outages), every major U.S. airline has committed through the DOT dashboard to meals after a 3-hour wait and hotel for overnight cancellations. Every airline except Frontier also commits to ground transport to and from the hotel. These are airline commitments, not a separate federal mandate, but the DOT tracks and enforces them. Ask at the gate. Agents may not bring it up first.
No airline is currently required to pay cash compensation for the delay itself. A proposed rule that would have changed that was withdrawn in 2025. What you are still owed: the refund, the rebooking, and the care commitments in this chart.
