The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2025 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M. Yaghi “for the development of metal–organic frameworks.”
In our latest preprint, we introduce rhodamines as new scaffolds for molecular electronics. We harness rhodamine's lactone-zwitterion bistability to access on/off conductance ratios that are among the highest reported for chemically-induced switches.
