I genuinely don’t understand why PSG gets so much hate.

For years, Ligue 1 was dominated by Lyon, winning 7 straight league titles from 2002 to 2008, yet they still couldn’t consistently compete with Europe’s financial giants in the UEFA Champions League, they never made it past the quarterfinals in any of those years. A huge reason for that was the financial gap between Ligue 1 and the other top leagues.

Now Ligue 1 finally has a club capable of competing financially with the elite spenders across Europe, and suddenly people hate it. PSG have made 5 semifinals and 3 ucl finals in 7 years, contributing heavily to Ligue 1’s coefficient yet it’s heavily frowned upon🤦🏾‍♂️

PSG does not even heavily deplete the talent in Ligue 1 and when PSG buys Ligue 1 talent, the club is charged heavy and pays without fuss.

Look at the Europa League and Conference League — Ligue 1 clubs often struggle because the squad depth in other leagues completely dwarfs theirs. Instead of hating PSG, Ligue 1 should be encouraging more serious investors to buy clubs and raise the overall level of the league.

RC Lens will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season, and I genuinely hope they at least make the playoffs or Round of 16. Because when Ligue 1 inevitably postpones one of their league games to help them rest and prepare properly for Europe, I’ll be here watching the reactions carefully.

And if RC Lens fans truly believe that kind of support is “unfair,” then Lens should reject it publicly and release a club statement saying it’s unfair on the domestic opponent they were meant to face.

The hypocrisy around this topic is unbelievable.
