Acts 1:5 contrasts John’s preparatory ritual with Christ’s spiritual sacrament, which uses water to apply the Holy Spirit.

If Peter thought faith meant water was useless, he wouldn't have strictly ordered them to be baptized in water in Acts 10:48 right after seeing their faith. They go together.

In Acts 8:36, the eunuch asks, "Here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?" If baptism into Jesus was purely a dry, mental event, they wouldn't have stopped the chariot for water.

Baptism isn't something we do to earn salvation; it is a physical washing where God does the work of saving us. You are arguing with Paul.
