When Scottish actress Tilda Swinton wore Palestine scarf for British Vogue
“The Palestinian scarf I wore in Vogue is mine. It's just my favourite scarf”
“I don’t feel anything right now” as the world is falling apart and innocent people are suffering and dying. She gets to live a life of wealth and privilege so that isn’t shocking she has zero opinion about what’s currently happening because none of it affects her.
Things don’t have to directly affect you in order for you to feel empathy and compassion. You can be rich and privileged but still acknowledge the suffering others are experiencing. Saying you don’t feel anything just makes you look like a sociopath. What a soulless thing to say.
If her husband thinks she’s a republican based on her behavior then she’s clearly a lot more conservative than she’s letting on in this interview. You either agree with what’s happening in this country or you don’t. Not feeling anything tells me you don’t think it’s a big deal and don’t condemn the actions of our government.
What intrigues me is their confident stating of what people could and couldn’t do “earlier”. These are high schoolers - their entire memories are of the Modi years but their heads are filled with an imagined victimhood from a time they have no memories of.
@angie_rasmussen dear Dr Angela, I am a DW journalist based in Berlin and would like to interview you for a piece on the Ebola outbreak in Congo. I’d appreciate 15 mins today or tomorrow. thank you 🙏🏽
Save Hinduism from Hindutvawadi dúds like this one. The blouse is not Vedic era at all. Women would cover their breast with their saree pallu, in fact the blouse pictured here has hooks at the back. Imagine the dúnderheadness of calling it Vedic era 🤦🏻♀️
The jewellery pictured here has too modern a make, no such Vedic era jewellery has been found in the archaeological excavations.
Neither is this Vedic culture nor is it Vedic dressing. Be historical ffs!
Horrifying. Hate has barged into popular culture, branding, textbooks, and life itself. Does anyone who has the power to make a difference care? Oh wait, they are thriving off it.
"before the days of AI"
don't discredit the effort that still goes into 3D animation by making it seem like AI is an accepted industry standard you prick
