As a signatory we stand ready to work with the Government, and on a cross-party basis, as equal partners, to bring about the longer-term changes that are needed to build a care and support system that enables everyone to live the life they want to lead #spendingreview
As we look to the #SpendingReview VODG joins a group of nearly 100 leaders to call on @RachelReevesMP to strengthen #AdultSocialCare and work with the sector, including people who draw on support, to mitigate pressures on councils, providers and charities.

On 19 March MPs decide if #SocialCare charities will be exempt from rises in Employer National Insurance contributions. If we aren't exempted social care charities may not survive to continue to provide the essential support that millions of disabled people rely on. #NICsBill
@VODGmembership Ahead of the National Insurance Bill returning to the House of Commons next week, we are highlighting the impact unfunded NI increases will have on the care and support disabled people, families and carers rely on #ValueSocialCare#StrongerTogether#ENICs
A powerful day, a powerful message.
The government cannot ignore us when we stand together.
Social care saves lives, supports jobs, and strengthens society. It’s time for real action.
#ValueSocialCare#CareCannotWait
📣The rise in National Insurance Contributions will have a devastating impact on the care and support disabled people, families & carers rely on.
It’s not too late for @hmtreasury to act. On 25 Feb we’ll be in Westminster calling for change. Join us there:

With an estimated 40,000 establishments across England, the sector contributes an estimated £68.1bn billion annually to the UK economy according to a Skills for Care report.
#ValueSocialCare#ProvidersUnite#StrongerTogether
We agree that any funding is welcome, but this falls massively short of what's needed to cover the changes to NICs, and will the funding reach the providers that need it? #localgov#socialcare
While this additional funding is welcome, there's still a gap of over £1bn for adult social care to even standstill next year, which means councils won’t be able to fully meet people’s care and support needs https://t.co/ea7LJEyR51
Funding for adult social care is an investment in us all, not a cost.
100+ organisations have signed our public statement calling for Govt to work with the sector to mitigate the pressures on councils, providers & charities.

We are once again humbled to be supported by the brilliant @ImagineIAS, who have stepped up to help people facing hardship at Christmas, with this fantastic donation.
It really is a team effort, thankyou.

I hear a lot of myths related to care such as ‘your only there to make them cups of tea’ or ‘it’s all personal care’...
We support people in the community...with many other things. We are somebody’s friend and in some cases somebody’s family when they don’t have anybody else.
In 2021, Enid had her 90th. Due to poor health she had to cancel her party, but recently, she decided to have a garden party.
At the top of her wish list, was a Punch & Judy show, & singer to sing George Formby songs. She had so many friends there to to celebrate with her.
Concerns about detrimental effect of the Budget on the provision of social care and support has been raised in Parliament. Social Care needs exemption. #ProvidersUnite@VODGmembership

Well done Andy on your achievement of 100 miles in October for the National Autistic Society raising £1050. Andy, an IAS support worker, has supported many people with Autism. Andy says "I had help with some of my miles from a couple of lads I support as well, which was great."
