New research from ImagingNMD reveals how MRI scans can show the relationship between muscle health and functional performance in people with Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD).

By measuring fat in the thigh and gluteal muscles, researchers found that these scans could help identify men with BMD who could no longer perform specific tasks.
Many of our participants share with us that seeing their muscles for the first time is a powerful experience, providing insight into the everyday struggles of living with MD.
Interested in learning more about your body with BMD? Join our study today: https://t.co/xhdk1In575
We couldn't advance Becker muscular dystrophy research without you. Your data helps us take the next step towards treatment, that's why we think it's equally important to share your data with you.
Your participation not only contributes to vital research but also provides an opportunity to go through your muscles' detailed data alongside our researchers.
iNMD at the @MDAorg Conference! 📸 Dr. Glenn Walter delivered a presentation on Imaging Cell and Gene Therapies, highlighting the latest field advancements. Our team is also sharing key findings with the passionate MD community. Grateful to be part of such an impactful event!
New research from iNMD, shared at the 2024 World Muscle Society Annual Congress, shows a clear link between muscle fat levels and clinical function in DMD. It reveals how using MRI to measure muscle fat can help predict a person's ability to move. https://t.co/OzJe4mKIN7
@MDAorg Dr. Glenn Walter will be presenting on 'Imaging Cell and Gene Therapies,' and additional team members will share ImagingNMD findings while engaging with our passionate MD community.

Dr. Krista Vandenborne from the ImagingNMD team will be giving a clinical trial update on "Muscle MRI Outcomes in Patients With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Treated with Delandistrogene Moxeparvovec: Findings from EMBARK Part 1" at this year's @MDAorg Conference.
In honor of Rare Disease Day, we are proud to shine a light on Becker and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
Together, we are working towards a future with better treatments. Learn how you or a loved one can make a difference by participating in our study: https://t.co/87ayZo7n64
Through non-invasive imaging techniques like MRI and MRS, we strive to provide valuable insights that support better care and outcomes for individuals with rare neuromuscular disorders.
Every participant in an observational study helps us build the knowledge needed to advance treatments.
If you or someone you know has BMD, you have the power to change the future of Becker research. Learn how: https://t.co/ZrafbYJF7a
To find a cure for Becker muscular dystrophy we have to start at the foundation:
To have cures, you need treatments.
To have treatments, you need clinical trials.
To have clinical trials, you need outcome measures/biomarkers that track disease progression

We know more about Duchenne MD than Becker MD because decades of observational research have shaped how we study, measure, and treat participants with DMD. Now, we need the same foundation for Becker.
