Fix the economy.
Tackle terrorism.

Elections are being held today in GB and AJK.
History teaches us that nations collapse when people feel their voice through the ballot box means nothing and that decisions are taken elsewhere.
Our enemies succeed in their sinister designs only because of our own mistakes.
The decision makers in government have already played havoc by tilting the field before a single vote is cast.
We have been here before. September 1971, we facilitated the Kissinger-China breakthrough. We were on top of the world.
Dhaka fell two months later.

I have stayed out of active politics.
But this cannot go without being said.

They couldn’t beat you at the ballot. So they illegally incarcerated you. They tried to finish your party. They even took away the symbol. When that didn’t work, they stole the whole election.
Now they want to raise the voting age to 25. If an 18 year old can take a bullet for this country, why can’t he be allowed to vote?
This is not policy. This is panic. They fear you and it does not get more naked than this.

Line 4 clearly lists the One Constitution Ave apartment and the deposit paid for it.

He declared the apartment, the advance payment, and the project details years before becoming Prime Minister.

Transparency leaves a paper trail.

I saw some joker on @_Mansoor_Ali show promising to resign if the paper trail was shown.

Now let’s see if he follows up on his claim.

The Parliament is planing to give away 6000 acres of public land in Karachi for free. They approved the bill without even discussing the clauses.
It’s basically like a blank cheque to be filled in later.
And to top it all:
COURTS ARE BANNED TO INTERVENE.
Very convenient.
They clearly know it’s highway robbery so they keep the courts out!

@AliHZaidiPTI @ImranKhanPTI 100% agreed. Any diplomatic wins abroad mean very little if our domestic reality is defined by political victimization and the suppression of free speech. The hypocrisy of playing peacemaker while keeping Imran Khan and others locked up on bogus charges is glaring.

Pakistan’s state machinery deserves credit for punching above its weight diplomatically in the Gulf.
So far, very well done on this front.

But statesmanship also requires moral consistency. The state cannot keep @ImranKhanPTI & Bushra BB locked up in solitary confinement on bogus cases.

The state cannot keep SMQ, Omar Cheema, Ejaz Chaudry, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mahmood ur Rasheed and many other political prisoners locked up on the whims of an illegally elected CM of a province.

The state shouldn’t have locked up Iman Mazari on a 10 year sentence for tweeting something that was not to its liking.

The state cannot weaponise law at home and simultaneously try to save the world.

Save the world by all means.
But please save Pakistan first.
