My company had a strict "always book the cheapest flight" policy.
I once got written up for spending a little extra on a direct flight that would've gotten me home hours earlier.
A few months later, i had a work trip with my manager and was asked to book my manager's travel because he never handled his own bookings.
So I followed the policy to the letter: I booked us the cheapest itinerary I could find, a Friday evening flight with a 4-hour layover that got us home well after midnight.
He was furious because he still had an hour's drive from the airport and had to cancel his plans.
I simply reminded him that I'd booked the cheapest option, just like the company required.
The following Monday, HR announced that employees should use their "best judgment" when booking business travel.
I’m tired of people acting like someone’s life matters less because they weren’t an American on paper. He spent 35 years here, raised three American children, and built his life in Houston. He was an American in every way that mattered.
i just told a guy i don’t want kids
he said “if you got pregnant
i’d make you keep it”
i blocked him immediately
because that’s not a difference of opinion
that’s a reproductive coercion always...
When I got pregnant at 17 my ultra right-wing, conservative, catholic parents told me to get an abortion and we’d never talk about it again.
That’s why I know they’re all full of shit.
Even if that dog were to bite him, it wouldn't have killed him, and there's another officer there to help him. The training cops get can't only be "when scared, open fire". Fuck this cop
the concept of donations to a children's charity decreasing for every second that people stay over their allocated time... in a building full of unbelievably rich people...
