Taylor taught sixth grade at Leckie Elementary School. On 9/11, she boarded Flight 77 with one of her students, Bernard Brown, bound for California on a National Geographic Society field trip. Princess Diana was laid to rest on a secluded island in the middle of the Oval Lake at Althorp, her family’s ancestral estate in England. Following her death in 1997, the private location was chosen to give her sons and family a peaceful place to visit away from the public eye.

Surrounded by water and trees, the island remains closed to visitors. A nearby memorial allows the public to pay their respects and remember Diana, who remains one of the most beloved and recognizable figures in modern royal history.
