Obviously this guy is down on his luck and probably can't afford and accommodation. He feels trapped and his self esteem must be very low considering his wife's betrayal

I know a few who are different but there's a larger fraction of those who are willing to compromise their standards for money. That's the current Nigerian reality. That's often the source of prejudice

A man or woman who's been disappointed severally by the opposite sex will always be paranoid and have a deep suspicion of them.
