@eademsententia@jacelala Ok, why does God abort ~25% of all pregnancies?
'You're just a cynical and disenfranchised individual'
You don't need to pretend to be a mind reader 👍
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 So it absolutely makes sense that you believed before you understood.
That's what you were taught.
Same with Hindus in India, and Muslim in Iran.
'I actually knew Christ as well as you do.'
I believed I 'knew' Christ, but as soon as I had serious doubts Christ disappeared.

And if Jesus isn't referring to the current generation in Matthew 24, then his words have no meaning at all.
Obviously people will exist when he returns.
That goes without saying.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 'The only way to end it was a restart.'
Obviously not.
God is all-powerful. He could have done a million different things.
He chose genocide.
He often chooses genocide as a solution.
Or cannibalism:
'I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters'
@trodtroll1967@jacelala Sure.
This is God taking away a women's freewill.
She isn't aware that she can even make a choice, let alone actually make one.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 Sure, but were you aware of the Bible?
Grow up in broadly Christian culture?
We are products of our upbringing
This is why people in India become Hindus, and people in Iran become Muslims.
And people in Utah become Mormons ha.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 'This generation' means the current generation?
This is what Christians have thought for 60 odd generations, and have only ever been completely wrong.
As Jesus was.
And this apologetic doesn't explain Matthew 10, or Matthew 16.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 How was God murdering all the innocent children in the Flood not murder?
How about when God commands cannibalism?
Here are 6 verses:

@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 Exactly ha, same with demonstrating that you're receiving thoughts from God/demons.
It's very easy to say you are.
But we apportion our belief to the evidence, as the saying goes.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 'we don’t know where thoughts come from.'
Literally all available evidence points to the idea that thoughts come from brains.
So, until there's evidence to the contrary, this is the idea we should accept.
'We need discernment'
Yes, it takes a village to raise a child.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 True, but Jesus gives a clear cutoff point: with a generation.
He doesn't know if it's going to be morning, or evening, or Monday or Friday, but he knows it'll be within a generation.
Why were he, Paul and John so wrong?
Anyway, I've probably hammered this enough tbf.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 'I don’t know'
That's an honest answer, thanks.
'God is against murder'
God murders, or commands the (often brutal) murder of many people in the OT.
Famously, he even murdered the whole world, including many innocent children.
Murder is often his solution of choice.
@tovi_lord@DiscoverJesus3@Truth_matters20 'We can’t deny that it’s happening'
Sure, but this is the wrong way around.
We shouldn't accept a proposition until there's sufficient evidence, right?
It's not the job of people to prove I'm not hearing from aliens, it's my job to demonstrate I actually am.
