@megha_lilly England still have milkmen, they deliver to your house. It’s not gone away, not available everywhere but in a lot of places it’s still possible.
@jk_rowling If only you and George Orwell could have somehow had a chat, or a podcast, the two of your minds together in the same room would have been fascinating .
@RebeccMcLaugh Another reason for conflict here is that you say you’re complentarian in church& home but your version of gender and sexual identity varies to other complementarians (and of course those who are patriarchal) I’d love to see a conversation between you and @ButterfieldyrcR on this
@RebeccMcLaugh I think one problem here is your original post reads like so many of the Gospel Coalition click-bait titles for their blogs, and it therefore needed a lot of unpacking to get to the heart of that you meant and what you’re trying to speak to…
@AnglicanFutures and avoid tribalism. Naturally, there will be some people we are more in agreement with theologically and doctrinally but we don’t need to give them special treatment or have some sort of inner circle. Have close friendships yes; but not in an exclusionary way.
Well done to the courageous victim. Now may everyone who stood in Fletchers corner (actively or passively) recognise the culture that protected his power & hindered justice and take heed.
Jonathan Fletcher is guilty of indecent assault - yet it is hard to underestimate how appalling the suffering has been for the victim and his family and how inadequate the public response has been to this verdict from those who purported to care for them. https://t.co/y0tYswkSOa
@AnglicanFutures I think I’m still trying to figure it out. But think I’d want to say the way to help is to be a church what will walk with them by listening and love them in the confusion and keep speaking truth to them; keep showing them how the gospel is always good news…
@Keir_Starmer@HarrietHarman You said you would halve violence to women and girls within a decade. Sex based data is essential for understanding patterns of male violence towards women and girls yet you and Harriet both think a man can be a woman! You both cannot advocate for us. This appointment is tragic.
@MadsDavies Any clergy that are part of WATCH should be disciplined by their Bishop for refusing to adhere to the 5 guiding principles of mutual flourishing. They are divisive and repeatedly misrepresent those with an alternative theological position to themselves.
@JohnPiper You are over-correcting from “Jesus died because you’re valuable” to a point of making image-bearers invaluable. We are sinful & undeserving & also created in Gods image & therefore significant. Moreover; Christ’s death is grounded in God’s grace not our worth OR unworthiness.
@fionalstuart@WATCH_ACT It is not at all because of them we have womens ministry. Their not that influential; their not representative of the VAST majority of the C of E for either position, they do not adhear to the 5 principles of mutual flourishing and therefore can't represent most.
@fionalstuart@WATCH_ACT I said their arguments are sneaky. They are. They twist people's words and theology and misrepresent them in a hateful way. It is clear you are misunderstanding me and I'm not looking to argue so I'd like to leave it here. But just one thing…
@fionalstuart@WATCH_ACT I'll leave this here. I don't think anyone is going to change their theology over X, but I did want to show how sneeky @WATCH_ACT arguments are, they attribute wrong motives and put words in others mouths, & their posts go against the 5 guiding principles of mutual flourishing.
@fionalstuart@WATCH_ACT I am not sure why you are asking me that exactly? I don't think misogyny is ok, none of my messages would suggest I do but that word is a deviation brought in by @WATCH_ACT from Tim’s original post. For info, I also don't think All Souls theological position is “misogyny”.
