The system is full of so many people who could run schools but choose not to. Instead prefer to do it from the staffroom at break while idle and sloth-like SLT do duty and run the school.

@Framheadteacher Being a Head is becoming an impossible job. By the end of the week everyone has has sucked your blood, taken every ounce you've got: parents, teachers, staff, children.

And then they all tell you you don't value them, care enough, work hard enough.

It's a soul destroying job.

Parents were robbed of a daughter in the most appalling way. Labour, and its MPs, just seem to want to use this tragedy to score points.

We had an AHT at one school. Used to really annoy my entire department by rocking up in our lessons.

Now it seems nobody can manage a lesson without a DHT on hand to manage behaviour.

@TeacherBusy Says a non-HT who hasn't worked out that Heads teaching often generates loads of cover while they attend meetings with the Trust, LA, link Governors, parents, councillors etc etc.

@joe__kirby @TeacherTapp Unspoken truth: in many it absolutely is. But it becomes secondary to another priority: ensuring colleagues enforce the behaviour policy consistently to ensure behaviour is managed effectively in lessons.
