Nonglei has been recorded twice earlier in 2005 and in 2013 as the first song for Imphal Music Project.
But this time we re-recorded the song with a bunch of children from Moirang and Khurai.

Yesterday we released this song (Chingyagi khangpokshang/song from a relief camp) to mark one year of the ongoing crisis in Manipur. The song was made with children in one particular relief camp.
It also features renowned Rongmei singer James Riamei.

This song is written & recorded as part of the children's music project — 'A Native Tongue Called Peace' — initiated in 2015. For this song, @ImphalTalkies collaborated with a group of children at a relief camp in #Imphal West district, recording them at a makeshift studio.

#OneYearOfManipur | Here’s Chingya-gee Khangpokshang (Song from a Relief Camp) released today by Manipur’s folk-rock band Imphal Talkies in collaboration with the children from a relief camp in the Imphal West district. The song as stated by the band is a part of their ongoing project, 'A Native Tongue Called Peace'.

As mentioned in their official YouTube channel, the project, initiated in 2015 aims to foster harmony among children from diverse ethnic backgrounds in Manipur. They have also stated that over six songs have been produced so far, showcasing the talents and voices of the young participants of Manipur.

Mention must also be made that the children recorded the song at a makeshift studio set up at the camp.
