@GeneralistAlan Was told that as a child. But now I'm an old lady in a time when dresses have pockets!! You bet my hands are in my pockets and I think of my mum when I'm doing it. Just as I think of her when I'm wearing sneakers with said dresses when I'm going out. IYKYK ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Watched 9 to 5 on Netflix last night.
Would have sworn I'd watched it back in the day.
But don't remember the plot at all...
One of those movies that we saw so much about we thought we knew what it was all about? Or I've just forgotten?
@the_salty_one_ Stop perpetuating the Moriori myth. What happened in the Chathams is well known and well publicized. It is part of the history of NZ that sits alongside the rest of history.
It's not a competition or a case of one bad thing negates another bad thing.
Know your history.
@caffeineworship And if all that applies but luckily you managed to invest in a rental along the way because you planned for your retirement, you manage to keep a couple of those "luxuries" but society has labeled you as greedy and bad...

@shelleyDewHopki@PronouncedHare Rates is such a political red herring. Kerfuffle locally about the cost of the Len Lye Gallery - getting rid of that cost would save rate payers an average of $3.30 per week.
@dairymanNZ Just went in search of his post and read the comments in this thread.
I've been out of the industry for over a decade and I am still disheartened by how little NZ understands the industry.
Winston adding to the misunderstanding.
@NatInterestNZ@Farmingwithwalt@dairymanNZ To create competition in the domestic market.
Yes it required legislation. But it was hardly created by parliament.
It is a cooperative industry owned and driven by supplying farmers and it has been since late 1800s
@NatInterestNZ@Farmingwithwalt@dairymanNZ How was Fonterra formed by Parliament.
It was something industry leaders had been working towards since the 1980s.
It required deregulation of the industry - ie disbanding NZDB and enabling legislation to encourage competition at the farmgate. Conditions were imposed
Twitter is a train wreck. Very occasionally someone I have followed for years pops up.
But otherwise it keeps defaulting to "for you" and screeds of stupid AI stories.
I miss the old NZ twitter...
