President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the leadership and people of our Iron Brother on the passing of Premier Zhu Rongji. Pakistan has lost one of its good friends today,” the President said.

“Our hearts go out to the bereaved family. We share their grief at this sad moment and express our solidarity with President Xi Jinping and the people of China. Message from First Lady Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari MNA on National Minorities Day (11th August 2026)

On the occasion of National Minorities Day, I extend my warm greetings to all minority communities across Pakistan. This day is an opportunity to recognise their valuable contributions to our country and to reaffirm the principle that every citizen is an equal member of our national community.

Pakistan’s progress is strengthened by the contributions of citizens from all faiths. Members of our minority communities have served the country in education, healthcare, law, public service, business, the armed forces, arts, sports and many other fields. Their achievements are an important part of Pakistan’s story of progress and development.

Equality must be reflected in the rights and opportunities available to every citizen. The law must protect all citizens equally and every Pakistani should be able to participate fully in the social, economic and civic life of the country without discrimination on the basis of religion.

Our women and youth have a particularly important role in building a more inclusive and prosperous Pakistan. We must ensure that young people from minority communities have equal opportunities to pursue education, develop their skills and contribute to the country’s future. Minority women, too, must have equal opportunities to participate in education, employment and public life and to realise their potential. All institutions and segments of society have a responsibility to uphold these principles and ensure that every citizen is treated fairly and given the opportunity to contribute to the progress of Pakistan.

I call upon families, educational institutions, communities and public institutions to promote respect, understanding and equal treatment among our citizens. The values we teach our young people today will shape the Pakistan they build tomorrow.

On this day, I pay tribute to the contributions of our minority communities and extend my best wishes for their continued progress, prosperity and well-being.

May Pakistan continue to move forward with equality, respect and opportunity for all its citizens.

Message from the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on International Youth Day (12th August 2026)

​​I extend my warm greetings to the youth of Pakistan and join the international community in celebrating their energy, resilience, creativity and commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable future.

​This year's theme, "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations," reminds us that though young people come from diverse backgrounds yet they share common aspirations for quality education, decent employment, innovation, equality and meaningful participation in society. It is not only the duty of the state but our collective responsibility to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to realise their full potential.

​The exuberance, creativity and resilience of our youth are among Pakistan's greatest strengths and their fresh perspectives and innovative ideas have the power to transform communities and society at large. By ensuring their meaningful engagement in education, employment, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, civic participation and decision-making, we can and we must harness this immense potential for the greater good of society. Empowering youth to actively contribute to national development is more than an investment in their future but actually it is an investment in Pakistan’s future.

​With nearly 67 per cent of Pakistan's population under the age of 30, our youth represents the nation's greatest strength. The aspirations, talent and leadership of young women in particular are essential for our socio-economic development. By expanding opportunities for girls and young women in education, skills development, entrepreneurship, science, technology and leadership, we can unlock the full potential of our nation.

This day also serves as a reminder that if challenges such as lack of educational opportunities, high youth unemployment rate and digital literacy gaps are not addressed in a timely manner, the long term consequences are bound to ripple across the whole society including economic stagnation, brain drain, crimes proliferation, human trafficking, mental health issues and even civil unrest.

​The Government of Pakistan remains committed to empowering youth. The Prime Minister's Youth Programme is the Government of Pakistan's flagship initiative for youth empowerment, aimed at harnessing the country's demographic dividend by providing young people with opportunities in education, skills development, employment, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, sports and civic engagement.

I encourage our young women and men to pursue excellence, embrace innovation, uphold the values of integrity, compassion and tolerance and actively contribute to the progress of our country.

Let us transform our common aspirations into shared achievements and build a stronger, more inclusive and prosperous Pakistan.

مرحوم میر رضا کے گھر4 اگست کو تعزیت کے لیئے گئے تھے بہت غمناک واقعہ ہے پولیس ۔ڈاکٹرز۔ جن کی بھی غلطی جس مرحلے پر ہے وہاں محکماتی کاروائ ضرور ہو گی۔ لیکن اس میں وزیروں اور ان کے بچوں کو گھسیٹنا یہ سیاسی بد دیانتی ہے۔ پیپلز پارٹی کے وزیر نہ تو خواتین اداکار کو ہراساں کرتے ہیں نہ ہی ان کے بچے ڈالرز کے کاروبار کے ساتھ غیر ملکی خواتین کو ریپ کرتے ہیں۔

Dated 14 August 1947, this Special India Army Order records the discontinuance of India Army Orders.

Its most striking line is simple: “This is the last India Army Order.”

Issued in New Delhi and signed by Field Marshal Sir Claude J. E. Auchinleck, Commander-in-Chief in India, and Lieutenant-General R. A. Savory, Adjutant-General in India, the order captures an important moment of institutional transition on the eve of independence.

Documents like these provide a tangible record of how major political transformations were reflected within military institutions and their systems of administration.

Preserved as part of the military historical record, this document reminds us that history is not only found in the stories of battles and campaigns, but also in the records that quietly document the end of one era and the beginning of another.

کشمیر کے عوام کے ووٹ کا احترام کرنا ہوگا۔ منصفانہ انتخابات ہونے دیں، جس کا ووٹ نکلے اسی کی حکومت بننے دیں۔ یہی جمہوریت کا اصول ہے اور یہی کشمیری عوام کا حق ہے۔

پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی نے ہمیشہ قومی مفاد کو مقدم رکھا ہے۔ ہم اسلام آباد میں ان کے ساتھ کھڑے ہیں تاکہ ملک کو درپیش مسائل کا مقابلہ کیا جا سکے اور قومی معاملات کو ذمہ داری کے ساتھ آگے بڑھایا جا سکے۔ ہم آج بھی صبر کر رہے ہیں، کیونکہ ہمارے لیے پاکستان اور عوام کا مفاد سب سے اہم ہے۔ لیکن ہمارے صبر کا امتحان نہ لیا جائے۔

اگر کوئی ہم سے لڑائی چاہتا ہے تو لڑائی چھیڑ لے۔ پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کے پاس تمام جمہوری اور آئینی آپشنز موجود ہیں، اور ہم احتجاج کرنا بھی جانتے ہیں۔

10 اگست کو کشمیر کے عوام صرف پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی کو ووٹ نہیں دیں گے، بلکہ اپنے ووٹ کا تحفظ بھی کریں گے۔ کسی کو یہ اجازت نہیں دی جا سکتی کہ وہ عوام کے ووٹ پر ڈاکا ڈالے یا ان کے مینڈیٹ کو پامال کرے۔

اور میں آج واضح کر دینا چاہتا ہوں: اگر کشمیر کے عوام کے ساتھ ناانصافی ہوئی، اگر ان کے ووٹ کے ساتھ ظلم ہوا، تو میں خود عوام کے ساتھ کھڑا ہوں گا، ان کے ساتھ بیٹھوں گا اور ان کے حق کے لیے احتجاج کروں گا۔

طاقت کا اصل سرچشمہ عوام ہے۔ کشمیر کا فیصلہ کشمیر کے عوام ہی کریں گے۔
