That’s 7 goals already playing for Norway, like Norway.
I don’t think there’s ever been any more robotic goalscorer ever in football than Haaland, man might not even get 30 touches in a game and he could legitly walk away with 3 goals, how does he even stay that concentrated without getting involved much? Today he had just 30 touches, 4 shots, 2 goals, didn’t even attempt 20 passes.
The craziest thing is that this isn’t even a one-off, it’s literally how he plays every single week. Most attackers need to feel the ball, complete passes, beat a man or two just to get into the game. Haaland doesn’t need any of that. He can disappear for 50 minutes, barely be involved in the build-up, then suddenly make two runs and score twice.
It’s crazy focus and mentality. Imagine staying fully locked in for 90 minutes knowing you might only get three or four real chances. Most players lose focus when they’re not involved, but somehow he seems even sharper the longer he waits. His movement, timing and anticipation are on another level. I think he just saves his Energy for when it matters.
I will also hate playing against Haaland if am a defender. You can think you’ve kept him quiet all game, then you leave him twice and he’s got a brace. It’s almost unfair how efficient he is. Football has seen great goalscorers, but I genuinely don’t think we’ve ever seen one this robotic in front of goal.
⚡️ Haaland is the purest specialist football has ever produced.
He deleted everything from his game.
The dribbling, the buildup, the flourish.
All of it liquidated and reinvested into a single function: ending attacks.
A goal per game at Salzburg. At Dortmund. At City. For Norway. Four systems, three countries, zero adaptation lag. Fastest to 50 Champions League goals in history. Now a goal in 14 straight competitive internationals.
The secret is that his finishing happens before the shot exists. The run is timed to the defender’s blind side. The body is open before the ball arrives. The first touch is the shot. Defenders mark where he is. He was never there.
Everyone else plays the moment.
Haaland plays a half second in the future, and in that half second he is completely alone.
1 - This is the first time in World Cup history that three different players have scored 7+ goals in a single edition of the tournament
