August 25 is observed as Rohingya #Genocide Remembrance Day.
The genocide of #Rohingya started decades ago, & it is on going. The current situation is worse than what my grandparents experienced.
I am grateful to Buffalo State Uni for honoring me with the Social Advocacy Award from the Dr. Katherine S. Conway-Turner Office of Civic & Community Engagement, recognizing my efforts in fostering equity, justice, & inclusion through social and structural change.

Yesterday 219 Rohingya reached in Indonesia but after 17 hours later the Indonesian govt is preparing to force them into the Sea.
In that boat there is a 19 year girl who is the raped by camp group.
The world seems to be walking backward, and it feels like there is human blood everywhere.
War doesn't bring anything good for anyone, and we haven't learned our lessons yet.
Cease Fire in Gaza Now.
A lot of my time is spent trying to understand the policies & systems; I realize that our presence is crucial to making them humanized. Eventually, the communities will be served, & our adopted countries will have better citizens to contribute further.

Our skin heals, but not the heart. I wish the system & policies were designed to comprehend this.
How do you even introduce the topic of mental health to a community that doesn’t have a written language?

I learned so much, and I was surprised to see how much I can contribute to addressing complex challenges faced by asylum seekers, immigrant communities, and refugees here in the United States and globally.

Thank you for your partnership with the Pulitzer Center & for inviting writers to highlight their work
When we have a diverse community, we don’t realize how much we can learn from each other, and it only allows our world to grow bigger and bigger to make a just world.

The existence of #Rohingya will be recognised if we receive the education to fully comprehend the country we are living in and also our place in the world. We need to be heard in every department and system, and we understand it can be achieved with collaboration.
I want people to find our ( #Rohingya ) story in the history of the United States. Writing our stories and contributions to our adopted country is crucial. Once these are documented they can’t be destroyed and will be preserved.
