Pleural Effusion क्या है और फेफड़ों से पानी कैसे निकाला जाता है?
डॉ. अभिषेक शुक्ला, वरिष्ठ जेरियाट्रिशियन (वृद्धावस्था रोग विशेषज्ञ), समझाते हैं कि प्लूरल इफ्यूजन (Pleural Effusion) क्या है और फेफड़ों के आसपास जमा पानी को कैसे निकाला जाता है।
प्लूरल इफ्यूजन एक ऐसी स्थिति है, जिसमें फेफड़ों के चारों ओर मौजूद प्लूरल स्पेस (Pleural Space) में तरल पदार्थ जमा हो जाता है। सामान्यतः सांस लेते समय फेफड़े आसानी से फैलते और सिकुड़ते हैं। लेकिन जब फेफड़ों के आसपास अधिक मात्रा में तरल जमा हो जाता है, तो वह फेफड़ों पर दबाव डाल सकता है, जिससे मरीज को सांस लेने में परेशानी होने लगती है।
इस मामले में मरीज को कई महीनों से सांस फूलने की समस्या थी। डॉक्टर ने मरीज में कमजोरी, वजन कम होना, खांसी, बलगम आना और बलगम में खून आने जैसे लक्षणों के बारे में जानकारी ली। इस बीमारी के मूल कारण का पता लगाना बहुत जरूरी है, क्योंकि प्लूरल इफ्यूजन टीबी, निमोनिया, हृदय की विफलता, कैंसर या अन्य बीमारियों के कारण हो सकता है।
इस स्थिति की जांच और उपचार के लिए डॉक्टर थोरासेंटेसिस (Thoracentesis) नामक प्रक्रिया कर सकते हैं, जिसे प्लूरल फ्लूड एस्पिरेशन भी कहते हैं। इस प्रक्रिया में छाती पर सुई डालने के लिए सुरक्षित स्थान की पहचान की जाती है, त्वचा को एंटीसेप्टिक से साफ किया जाता है और उचित स्टेराइल उपकरणों की सहायता से फेफड़ों के आसपास जमा तरल निकाला जाता है। निकाले गए तरल का नमूना जांच के लिए प्रयोगशाला में भेजा जाता है, ताकि बीमारी के कारण का पता लगाया जा सके।
तरल निकालने से फेफड़ों पर दबाव कम हो सकता है और मरीज को सांस लेने में राहत मिल सकती है। हालांकि, मरीज की स्थिति के अनुसार तरल निकालने की मात्रा और गति का सावधानीपूर्वक निर्धारण करना आवश्यक है। अधिक मात्रा में तरल निकालते समय मरीज की लगातार निगरानी जरूरी होती है, क्योंकि इस प्रक्रिया में कुछ जटिलताएं हो सकती हैं।
प्रक्रिया पूरी होने के बाद मेडिकल टीम मरीज की सांस लेने की स्थिति और समग्र स्वास्थ्य का दोबारा आकलन करती है। आवश्यकता के अनुसार अल्ट्रासाउंड या छाती का एक्स-रे करके बचे हुए तरल, फेफड़ों के फैलाव और संभावित जटिलताओं की जांच की जा सकती है।
महत्वपूर्ण संदेश: लंबे समय तक सांस फूलने की समस्या को कभी भी नजरअंदाज न करें। समय पर बीमारी की पहचान और उचित उपचार से मरीज के स्वास्थ्य में महत्वपूर्ण सुधार हो सकता है। फेफड़ों के आसपास जमा तरल निकालने की प्रक्रिया हमेशा प्रशिक्षित स्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञों द्वारा उचित चिकित्सा व्यवस्था में ही की जानी चाहिए।

I am heartbroken and appalled by the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran, including reports that a girls’ school in southern Iran was hit, resulting in the injury and death of many girls. The killing of civilians, especially children, is unconscionable, and I condemn it unequivocally.

I call for the escalation of violence across the region to end. Justice and accountability must follow.
