Street Dogs in India are not just a number.

I want to tell you something

Indian breed dogs have always been a part of one family, a village or a neighborhood.

2.
However, with the introduction of imported breeds by the British colonial rulers, Indian street dogs were labeled as "pariahs"—unwanted, expendable, and targeted for elimination. This marked a break from India's tradition of viewing dogs as companions and protectors.

Rapid urbanization and the rise of high-rise apartment living have further widened this gap. Today, street dogs are increasingly seen as a nuisance, with growing calls for their removal or extermination.

Despite this, most Indian street dogs remain extremely friendly due to their constant interaction with humans.

Tragically, this trust and accessibility make them vulnerable to sexual assault by perverted individuals who seek to abuse animals.

IMPORTANT
Section 377, of IPC has not been included in the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), India has lost one of the few provisions explicitly criminalizing sexual violence against animals.

This legal vacuum isn’t just about animal cruelty — it’s a public safety issue.

SHOCKING TRUTH
Studies show that criminals who abuse animals often go on to harm women, children, and other vulnerable groups.
