"I don't know what I would have done without you." Ben, released from prison and relocated to a new place, had ended past associations but now faced extreme loneliness. Often their In2Out mentor is the only person our young people spend quality time with. #LonelinessAwarenessWeek
With this week being the 40th Anniversary of Volunteers Week, In2Out thanks our brilliant volunteers who do so much to support our participants and us - we simply cannot do it without you.
With Mark completing the Pennine Way, the value of preparation, equipment, training, guidebooks and maps is clear. Our participants also need a vision, a plan, preparation, encouragement and support. Thankfully, our mentors are on hand to help. https://t.co/oyJhz1ujFW
Job Done! 15 days, 268 miles and Mark crossed the finishing line, raising an amazing £21,153 (with still more coming in) towards mentoring support for even more young people leaving prison. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you to everyone who supported.
Many thanks to @WetherbyFoodbank for the latest supplies. These will be used in Leaving Custody Kits for participants who are leaving custody to live independently. Having something in the food cupboard to get them off to a good start.
And he's off! Mark set out yesterday on his 268 mile hike of the Pennine Way in 15 days to raise £20,000 towards supporting even more young people leaving prison.

The decision to break from negative relationships, leaving the gang or old group of friends is a tough one for our participants. Choosing to face isolation and maybe the threat of retributon takes courage. Having a mentor who can encourage and support them is so important.
Mark Screeton, In2Out Executive Director, is on local radio! Tomorrow from 10am-11am on Tempo FM 107.4FM, Mark will be sharing about the work of In2Out, our 10th Anniversary and his fundraising feat of hiking the Pennine Way in 15 days. Listen online or on your smart speaker.

"This feels just like going to my Nan's on a Sunday. Eating together like this makes me realise what I'm missing - not just the food but good company and laughing together."
Another positive cooking session with young people at HMYOI Wetherby and In2Out.
