@CTVToronto The government and the courts need to stop putting the welfare of criminals ahead of the welfare of law abiding citizens.
Removing this animal from the streets for a long time would create real public safety.
@nationalpost Insanity.
Suicidal empathy. We will kill our country trying to help everybody. When it all falls apart, we will be able to help nobody.
You don't give blood until it's all gone. You give what you can spare.
@DefiantLs Any bets on how much this movie will lose? They spent $250 million making it, and have/will spend another $100 million for promotion and distribution.
I say they recover maybe $150 million, and wind up $200 million in the red.
@DefiantLs Capitalism works if you work.
If you don't work, that's on you.
The truth is you're comfortable where you're at, and you don't want to work for change as much as you want change to fall into your lap.
Life doesn't work that way.
Winners work.
@checkem888@SBakerMD Exactly what a lazy person says.
You sound like someone who intentionally leaves a mess in a restaurant so someone will "have a job" cleaning up after you.
@SamwiseeGG@InsiderWire You could ban all the guns in the US and criminals will still have them.
Guns can be smuggled in - just like drugs get smuggled in.
The solutions are long, complicated, and would take generations. Better healthcare/social safety net, and destigmatizing mental healthcare.
@SamwiseeGG@InsiderWire Because that's going to solve the problem? Would you feel any better if a crazy person used a machete instead of a gun?
And don't give me that bullshit excuse that they would be able to kill less people. Dead is dead, no matter the number.
@Jennif1a@SBakerMD How long does it take to walk to the front of the store and back?
Leaving your car running for 30 seconds or a minute isn't going to kill it. Your car's engine experiences temperatures of 2700° to 4500° when gas is burned... no matter the outdoor temperature.
Weak excuse.
@westernstandard He's already out on bail.
He'll probably shoot up another business to get money to pay for a lawyer.
The judge will go easy on him so it doesn't affect his immigration status.
This country has turned into a joke, and everybody but Canadians are laughing.
@DefiantLs Minimum wage increases only hurt minimum wage earners.
If a shelf stocker makes $25/hr the retailer will increase prices to remain profitable.
The guy making $200k/year doesn't care that butter will go up to $10/lb. The person making minimum wage will most certainly care.
@mario4thenorth@MarkJCarney@PierrePoilievre Does the bill do anything to stop people from getting bail when they commit new crimes, while already out on bail or other charges?
I don't see anything that says they would.
The animal that murdered OPP Constable Greg Pierzchala was out on bail for a previous charge.
@6ixbuzztv Does it stop people who are already out on bail, and commit new crimes, from getting bail again?
No?
This law us just as ineffectual as other Fiberal laws.
While Conservatives talk about “jail not bail” slogans, they refused to support C-14. Our government got it done, delivering legislation that strengthens the justice system and gives provinces and territories the tools they need to improve public safety through implementation.
With more than 80 targeted changes to the Criminal Code, repeat and violent offenders will face stricter bail rules, while those convicted of serious crimes such as organized crime, home invasion, car theft, and human trafficking will face stronger consequences.
Canadians deserve to feel safe in their communities.
@PaulieG14645851@CHCHNews Jack in the Box in the US still hasn't recovered from their 1993 E. coli outbreak.
This little chain might survive, but this location will suffer.
It will be closed in a year. Two years if the head office takes it over from the franchisee to save face. But it will close.
