@Royal_Greenwich the situation in Abbey Wood village is dire, it becoming filthy . I believe it’s a PSPO area. The rubbish bins have become a bar - at 6pm it’s weed and drunk shouting as you walk home .
The shops drag bags of leaking rubbish over the pavements .
Do something
@abenaopp I’ve heard a rumour that the council are looking to move the Abbey Wood traveller site from its present site to the allotment site in church manorway can you confirm or deny please as we have had no consultation on this at all.
Plans for demolition of the bungalow at 16 New Road, with erection of a block of 9 flats to replace it, have been approved by Bexley council.
Report says 5 objections were lodged by neighbours.
Neighbouring 18 New Road sold up a few months ago, listed at £970,000.
Decision on 103 is pending. Contact your cllrs now.
63 also listed on Public Register as an HMO. Nos. 109, 144 and 169 aren’t listed.
4, potentially 5, HMOs in one street?
Application for single storey rear extension + rear dormer window often prelude to HMO application.
@RebeccaEPhotog1 It is - looks like the developer has been trying to get approval for a while and has had to make revisions. For the type of residential area this is, a block of flats here would certainly stick out.
This bungalow (16 New Road) also has an application in to be demolished and replaced with flats. No decision yet, but I suspect this might be why the next door neighbour has sold up.
In the past year, 103, 109, 144 and 169 McLeod Road have had change of use from family homes to HMOs. Is someone buying up these houses in Abbey Wood, or just a coincidence?
Some of these estate agents are shameless. They claim this is "walking distance" to Abbey Wood station. This is a 33-minute walk to the station. Fancy that in the rain or blazing sun?
Seen others calling Belvedere "Upper Abbey Wood" with similarly long walks too!
Chain-free & beautifully refurbished! 🏡
5 beds, 3 receptions, new kitchen & bath, mature garden, and just a stroll to Abbey Wood & the Elizabeth Line. 🌿✨

A year later and no signs of activity, despite multiple units in Southmere development becoming occupied over the same time. And that's despite Southmere being further from the station.
Retail unit at new 'Abbey Place' flats on Felixstowe road, less than a minute's walk from Abbey Wood station, advertised at £42,500 per year. No clue if that's a competitive rental rate, but this unit has sat empty since construction finished, about two years now.
The Abbey Arms' new owners are, as expected, planning to build 38 new flats on the plot with only 4 parking spaces.
As we see with the dangerously cracked paving leading to Sainsbury's, these "car free" developments aren't enforced.
So, despite being literally next door to the station, this WILL result in even more poor parking and damaged public realm until Greenwich council decide to actually do their jobs and enforce parking controls in Abbey Wood.
It seems the community fibre outage is a DNS issue. Temporarily changing your DNS settings on your phone/computer or router to use a different public DNS (Google's: 8.8.8.8 or Cloudflare's: 1.1.1.1) gets you back online.

If you’re having problems with community fibre, change your dns settings to manual, and set it to 1.1.1.1
This will use cloudfare’s dns servers to resolve addresses and should fix your problem.
