@NickAnderegg I pointed out a clarification to your post, so yes, I am helping. I have not said that there is no impact on immunity. ALL viruses have some form of immune evasion or suppression.
Do you think you are helping by misleading people?
@NickAnderegg And that is important when your posts are read by non-scientists.
If they interpret your posts as meaning that the SC2 virus can damage immunity against other pathogens, then you are misleading them.
@NickAnderegg I spend most of my time dealing with antivaxers, virus deniers, conspiracy theorists and cranks.
You are none of those.
However, scientific accuracy is absolutely vital, and there is a common claim that the virus causes general immune damage. It doesn't
I did wonder if using a picture of a bacteriophage would upset some virus deniers & (rolls eyes) yes it did…
A virus which infects bacteria is a virus—I also love their utterly funky appearance!
Here’s a picture of a difference virus, one which affects mammals, can you name it?
@NickAnderegg That depends on the time between infections, the severity of infection, the infectious dose the second time and whether there was viral persistence, which in itself is a major cause of T cell exhaustion
@NickAnderegg See what you are doing is reading a paper without understanding the methodology or the immunological context, and then you are extrapolating that to a downstream effect that doesn't occur.
@NickAnderegg Oh my word.
Right.
There IS T cell exhaustion, but only in some clonal lineages. Not in all T cells.
That is a very, very important distinction.
And the papers you yourself link to show that. Have you not even read them?

@smthngnope@Jhon50996854042@FreeManOnEarth9 Amazing, isn't it.
I have made over half a million £ from that hobby so far, doing something I really enjoy, and with a worldwide appreciative audience.
They somehow see it as a negative thing.
Says a huge amount about their own outlook on life.
