Today with @walsallyjs we explored meditation, Qi Gong, & CBT exercisesβpowerful tools for self-reflection & growth.
As practitioners, itβs key to take time for ourselves, breathe, and recognize what we need to stay resilient.

The theme of #InternationalMensDay is positive role models.
One of those role models is @rickyotto67, a practitioner from @walsallyjs. He chats with YJB Board member @jacobsakil on the value of mentors & role models for Black boys in the YJS. π

Thank you for visiting @HighSheriffWM24 the team spoke highly of you and how the sincerity of helping communities and young people shone through
I look forward to meeting you in the future
During my visit to InPower Academy in Wolverhampton, I was very impressed by the organisation's commitment to getting young people together to do mixed martial arts (MMA) to ensure they are kept active and off the streets. It was great to meet so many young people and to see how InPower are creating opportunities for them in so many different ways. InPower Academy's core mission is to connect with young people and equip them with essential life skills.
Recognising the popularity of MMA among young people, the organisation leverages the sport to improve confidence and mental well-being. I also spoke at length to six young people who volunteer at the organisation. It was fascinating to hear their own life stories and how volunteering was also helping them overcome their own issues such as depression and anxiety.
I was delighted to briefly meet with community police officers who support the work of InPower in their community and its schools. I left in awe of their work and releasing this is far more than MMA itβs actually a community hub thatβs championing community cohesion and creating real impact. I would encourage people in Wolverhampton to reach out and support their work.

What a beautiful place and regarding reform and early intervention we could most definetly learn alot from this place
I hear alot about how the culture is different but culture can be shaped and this is one of the things we must do.. change has to be a systemic one
π₯ InPower Academy (@InPowerUK) delivers martial arts sessions across Wolverhampton and Dudley to divert young people from the criminal justice system.
π€ We have provided funding to help them continue to connect with young people and provide them with important life skills.
The Power of one, the strength of many. My @TEDxWolves talk was about the power of mentoring and It was great that three young kings I have mentored could come down and support. Three kings who themselves I believe will be on that stage one day
