There have been many reports of Samsung devices purchased from Amazon arriving pre-activated.

If you're buying a Samsung device from Amazon:

• Buy only from Samsung's official seller whenever possible.
• As soon as the device is delivered, check the warranty activation date in the Samsung shop app or at a Samsung Service Center.

If your device is already pre-activated:

1. Visit the nearest Samsung Service Center immediately.
2. Ask them to verify the warranty and issue a job sheet showing the warranty activation date.
3. Contact Amazon support right away and share the job sheet.
4. If your request is rejected because of Open Box Delivery, don't stop there. Request escalation to senior management.

In many cases, escalations with proper documentation receive a resolution within about 7 days.

Don't delay. Acting quickly is critical. The longer you wait, the harder it may become to get your claim accepted.

Thankfully, my unit arrived with the correct warranty and no pre-activation issues.
