In Bryan Bertino's THE DARK AND THE WICKED, a pair of grown siblings who venture back to their childhood home are disturbed to find their mother under the influence of an evil, shape-shifting supernatural presence.
The film will close out Scary Movies XIII tomorrow evening at 6pm and will be followed by a post-screening Q&A and reception (with small bites, wine, beer, and cocktails generously provided by Superbird Tequila!). 🎟️: https://t.co/yZqeZ11hvR
New York — this is probably one of the scariest films of the decade, so be forewarned, but it's also exceptional; like Bertino's THE STRANGERS, a brutal epitaph for our shaken national identity. I wrote about it at the time, so here that is on @letterboxd: https://t.co/YpxZ7lh8vI
@DEADLINE@FilmLinc & @Shudder present #TheDarkAndTheWicked as the ‘Scary Movies’ Series closing night film: 8/21 @ 6pm @ Walter Reade Theater @ Lincoln Center. TICKETS➡️ https://t.co/Z9uy0ktOPT
Martin Scorsese’s #KillersOfTheFlowerMoon (featuring Michael Abbott Jr. as Agent Frank Smith) is required viewing for every American. Leonardo DiCaprio is at his best.
The Dark and The Wicked is a hopeless beauty of a film, & Marin Ireland and Michael Abbott, Jr. use the sibling performance of their lived-in bodies to avoid possession & give us something humanly frightening. After this & In The Radiant City, they were born to play siblings.
