It's been going on for a while though. I think it's more of a lack of benefits from it. Hard to find a job to pay for gas and other consumables, not to mention if you have to pay for your own car and insurance. Used cars are more expensive, and maintenance is harder. Illegal immigrants are driving up insurance rates. Lots of restrictions on young people too, with 25 being a common minimum age to reserve lodging for vacation. Government enforced helicopter parenting isn't helping.
