CH 7: talks about the characteristics and elements of life. Most of earths biological history was occupied by microbes. The end of the snowball state led to the Cambrian explosion, and plants/animals happened about 400 M years ago. #BCsci19
CH 6: talks about why the earth has the climate that it does. The conditions of our planet are perfect for life to exist. Weathering and erosion are effected by the temperature of our planet as well. #BCsci19
CH 5: looks at different planet's atmospheres, the effects of asteroids on our solar system, and explores different theories of how earth's oceans and atmospheres came to be. #BCsci19
CH 4: looks at how earth's interior came into existence. We can study earth's interior using seismology, and we know the earth is protected by a magnetic field. #BCsci19
The first forms of life could've been formed in the bottom of the ocean where they would've been protected from the hostile earth environment. This would make sense! #BCsci19
Hydrogen came from the Big Bang, but carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus comes from stars. Interesting! What about all the other elements? #BCsci19
I remember learning about the Goldilocks effect in astronomy. Not too hot... Not too cold... The earth is placed at a perfect distance away from the sun. #BCsci19
