Ethiopia’s Digital Transformation: From Vision to Reality
We are witnessing a new chapter in Ethiopia’s history. What was once a distant dream of a digital economy has become our reality, built on the solid foundation of the "Digital Ethiopia" strategies.
Over the past five years, we’ve moved from strategy to tangible success:
Fayda Digital ID: Connecting 90 million citizens to a modern, secure, and inclusive financial and democratic system.
Ethiopia Coders: Equipping 5 million citizens with the digital skills to lead the Ethiopia of tomorrow.
Mesob Services: Bringing one-stop, transparent, and efficient government services directly to the people.
Financial Growth: A massive 16 trillion Birr in digital transactions in the 2017 fiscal year alone, proving that innovation is driving real economic inclusion for small businesses and families.
With the new "Digital Ethiopia 2030" strategy, the launch of our artificial intelligence institute, and a commitment to robust cybersecurity, we are securing our place in the global digital future.
This journey is more than just technology—it’s about simplifying daily life, fostering transparency, and turning our development goals into a reality that benefits every Ethiopian.
The future is digital, and together, we are building it.

Students and teachers from 30 remote schools in Kenya got a powerful little piece of hardware.
Starlink.
A satellite dish on a school roof sounds simple.
Until it becomes the thing standing between a rural classroom and the entire internet.
The classroom didn’t move.
The world just got a lot closer.

Both Somalia and Eritrea emerged through political and territorial frameworks influenced by European colonial administrations, whose legacies continue to affect regional politics to this day.
History matters. So does understanding how states were formed.

Initially, Isaias led Eritrea dreamt to be economically like Singapore, militarily like Israel and socially like Denmark.
But eventually the miscalculation of Sheabya led it to be the decaying country where its youth have no hope than forced military conscription.
Contrarily, Ethiopia’s new generation is charting its future built on innovation.
The difference is crystal clear!
