Giving up social media for Lent, back in April. Hopefully, nuclear WWIII won't have fully kicked off in the meantime, or I may be back sooner than hoped. Though we'll all have bigger problems of that happens.
Don't buy this item, it is utter rubbish and not fit for purpose: Compost Aerator Stirrer Turning Tool https://t.co/ThGKqjEen7 Can't review the item either as it's sold by a partner of B&Q.
@BabsHorton In my job as tutor, I see a number of students who scraped by the 11+ w help, who now flounder in secondary because teachers tell them "you're meant to be smart, figure it out for yourself".
@Sirens_Wrath@adamfare1996 No one behaves the same everywhere. My behaviours around other people (shops, workplaces) are heavily moderated compared to how I behave at home. There are certain norms for acceptable behaviour in public, there to make interactions smoother/less hostile.
@ahmedhankir For me, worst was inability to make decisions. Like a counter at a post office, where all queueing had broken down. Every thought fighting to get your attention, at the same time, shouting at you. "Do you want a cuppa?" -> paralysis
@ellis1068@adamfare1996 No. When I worked as a supply teacher, I kept getting send to teach/TA at special need schools, prus, etc. But no specialist course longer than a day, other than that included in my teacher training.
@ellis1068@adamfare1996 ...could benefit from the statement.
Telling me they have a statement doesn't change much for me, my style is reactive and work with what they know. But to some parents it's important to remind me all the time.
@ellis1068@adamfare1996 I don't know what prevalence is ins schools. Kids who go to public schools are very likely to have SEN statement, so get more resources and time for exams. The ones that tell me they have one, about 4/25. But I have others who say they don't have one although I'm sure they...
@mostlethalpanda @adamfare1996 I have not called anyone names, and I don't think I've said anything that deserves name calling. I had a bf that self-diagnosed autistic and used it as an excuse never to do anything he didn't want to. So, is "arsehole autistic person" a stereotype, or...?
@foxy_disaster@adamfare1996 My job is to help people pass exams and achieve their grades. I can spend an hour a week working towards this, or sitting in an empty room while a family has a meltdown over behaviour. After years, I notice not all autistic people struggle w this ("behaviourism"?).
